The fall belongs to Silksong

Hollow Knight: Silksong is as good as everyone said it was going to be. I had a more than a handful of moments that left me stunned thanks to this game’s unparalleled atmosphere and sense of place. I guess that’s what you can do with a 70-year development cycle.

But yeah, it was all Silksong this week. It nearly had more votes than the rest of the list put together.

The big new game this week is Borderlands 4, and it was able to jump immediately to No. 2 on our chart. It’s having some issues on PC, but otherwise people seem happy with it.

Star Wars Outlaws jumped back to life thanks to a superb port to the Switch 2. This game will likely get credit for proving that big, current-gen games can work really well on Nintendo’s latest hybrid. Outlaws also seems to be getting a bit more love since Ubisoft spruced it up with several updates.

Sneaking onto the list this week is Cronos: The New Dawn at No. 11. Bloober’s latest horror outing seems like it’s finding its audience, but it’s not quite the universally beloved effort that Silent Hill 2 Remake was.

And finally, Hell is Us. This game is ab out fighting your way through an investigation that you are responsible for piecing together as the player. The designers even start the game with a warning that they won’t tell you where to go next or what you’re supposed to be doing. That’s a bold choice, and I’m glad to see people showing up for it.

That’s it for this week, and that means it’s time to start voting for the next The Bomb 12. Fill out this form to have your say on the next list.
